Enlightening the next generation
Nestled just off Edinburgh's Royal Mile is Panmure House. It is the final home of Scottish Enlightenment philosopher Adam Smith – known the world over as the father of economics.
The Smith Schools' Series has been developed in his image, while catering to the needs and context of 21st century pupils. The programme invites learners and their teachers to embark on an historical Enlightenment journey, expanding their critical thinking skills and their understanding of global issues, all while improving their ability to debate and discuss ideas.
Thanks to support from Baillie Gifford, Smith Schools' has produced primary school resources to support teachers which are free to access and utilise in your classroom.
