    Panmure House Dialogues

The Panmure House Dialogue on Engaging Investors in Antimicrobial Effectiveness.

Tuesday 17 February 2026 Author: Professor Adam Dixon & Dr Lucy Naga

In November 2025, Panmure House welcomed a panel of leading experts for a vital discussion on Market Solutions for Antimicrobial Effectiveness—the inaugural event in our new programme series, the Panmure House Dialogues.

This ongoing series convenes thought leaders to tackle some of society’s most pressing challenges. In the spirit of the Scottish Enlightenment, Panmure House continues to serve as a hub for bold ideas and collaborative problem‑solving, just as it did in Adam Smith’s time.

Our first Dialogue focused on identifying market‑driven strategies to address antimicrobial resistance, bringing together expertise from policy, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and finance.

We are pleased to announce that a new report — Engaging Investors in Antimicrobial Effectiveness — capturing the insights generated during the session is now available to read HERE.

Thank you to our Dialogue participants for their contributions to both the discussion and the report:

Marijn Verhoef – Access to Medicine Foundation (ATMF)
David McKinney – Alliance for Reducing Microbial Resistance (ARMoR)
Henry Skinner – AMR Action Fund
Deepali Patel – AMR Action Fund
    Maria Souza – Baillie Gifford
    Julia Angeles – Baillie Gifford
    Edward Whitten – Baillie Gifford
Michael Corley – British Society of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy (BSAC)
Tom Ashfield – British Society of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy (BSAC)
Emma Berntman – Farm Animal Investment Risk and Return (FAIRR) Initiative
    Amish Acharya – Fleming Initiative
Maria Larsson Ortino – Legal and General
    Eoin McLaughlin – Heriot-Watt University
    Adam Dixon – Panmure House
    Lucy Naga – Panmure House

The Panmure House Dialogues will continue in 2026, with the next session scheduled to take place in May at Panmure House.
