The contract to make good the existing foundations and to provide additional height in the lower ground floor areas of Panmure House was recently won by the specialist underpinning firm MG Construction of Alloa.

The lowering of the floor in this area will help create the additional space for the lift, toilets and kitchen and is being carried out under archaeological supervision provided by Addyman Archaeology.

The works, which are being undertaken in small sections to ensure the structural integrity of the building, started on site in mid-September and are due to complete around the end of November.
