Adam Smith - Panmure House Logo

Visitor centre

The continued relevance of Smith’s writings has cemented his place in the global consciousness. Panmure House will be a place to discover more about the man and the subjects that inspired him.

Open to the general public during peak tourism season, it will be both a history lesson and a story of modern politics and global economies.

We will ensure that the building becomes a key part of the Edinburgh heritage trail, reintroducing Smith and his writings to people who both know his works intimately and those who perhaps know only what they have learned from politicians and others with an agenda to promote.
